The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day
Last Canyon

This was one of the funnest spots I've tossed a fly in a while! In the crack, a small brown was rising just a few inches from the edge under an overhang to small dusty green stoneflies. Every so often he'd get a little eager and bonk his nose on the rock above. After I smacked the face several times with my fly, I was finally able to get a grey Elk Hair Caddis underneath by making a snap off the dangle up the middle, then lifting into a short tight laid-over rollcast. He took on the first pass. Within a few minutes, he was back at it. I completely forgot to look at his nose!
