The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day

Crept out to one of the little ones. Like a lot of the river canyons around here, a railway used to pass this way. But it's been 50 years since a freight car travelled the line, and the track been pulled and salvaged long ago. During the westward expansion, the railways were granted land and right-of-way along the runs. A great conservancy called Rails to Trails has been turning these into trails for hiking, skiing, biking. It's really pretty cool, and you can only catch a spectal locomotive on your backcast!
