The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day

Sometimes you don't measure a day in fish. This was one of them. The sky was blue but there was a cold southerly blowing and nothing happening on the surface of the lake. A few damsels hovering around in the sheltered bays and a few beetles and what not here and there on the water. I only saw one fish rise and caught him, on a DH Sedge, and that was it. I pulled buggers for a while but zip. Nice day up there in the tussocks though. Lots of space with nobody in it but Peg and me. Been like this for thouseands of years, since the last ice age. I'm dreading what the place is going to be like surrounded by those monster wind turbines. War of the worlds. And the machines won.
