The 2015 world fly fishing championships has just finished. What an exciting time for us Aussies when Chris Bassano was in first place individually after Section Two.
Another young Australian, Luke Barby, came first in his draw in Section Two also. I used to fish with his Father, Verne Barby, who is also representing Australia at the Worlds this year. A father and son team - I don't think there are any other father and son teams fishing this year but I really don't know that for sure.

Well done to all teams who competed. It was tough, especially on the lake but it must have been very exciting to just have been there competing with the worlds best anglers!!!
The video this week is from the opening ceremony. About thirteen seconds in, you will see the Australian team including a couple of members from the fly fishing club I am lucky to be part of! One is the one who is talking with his hands..... You can tell they are Australian by their "slouch hats".
