We have been fly fishing for asp and carp in our home waters until last Friday. On Saturday we traveled to the Skjern river in Denmark for salmon fishing. Last year we had a pretty catchy time at the Skjern river. This year so far much less salmon entered the river and it seems we can't expect much of a change.
But one thing I learnt in salmon fishing for 25 years: Sometimes in the best years you catch nothing while in the worst year you may catch a fantastic salmon und though have a great season for yourself.
For Manja it almost went that way this year. She (and she alone) managed to hook up a fantastic salmon this week. Unfortunately she lost the fish after a short fight. We all felt sad for her, but we all know.... that's how fishing is - sometimes.
We are having a great time learning fly tying, fly casting and the tactics on salmon. Hopefully we'll manage to catch a salmon within the next 3 days!?
In the evening we are going to meet with viking Lars and share some fishing.
Right now it's time to go back FISHING! ;)
Great week to all of you!
All my best
