Weighing Fish

To establish the weight of fish caught. As you will no doubt be returning the fish you have just caught (if not, why not??) care is needed so as not to damage or mishandle the fish during weighing.
With wet hands gently lift the fish into a wet weighing sack free from knots or other sharp edges and weigh as quickly as possible. NEVER weigh the fish by hooking in the gill covers. Once weighed, return the fish to the water and revive before release. The fish will then grow into a bigger and more suitable quarry in the future (instead of just taking up space in the bottom of the freezer)
