The world's best flyfishing site.

If you are going to spend rather a long time standing in the water I'd suggest that you buy yourself some waders. Formerly they were made from PVC, but you ended up feeling like you were inside some giant condom. There are only two sorts of waders worth buying; neoprenes and breathables. Breathables have a reputation of letting water in as well as out. I have recently been given a pair of Vision Extreme breathable waders to assess. To date I am highly impressed. They are far better than neoprenes. I will still use neoprenes for float-tubing, but for river fishing I have been converted.

Stocking foot waders are best since they give you a better shoe fit and therefore greater ankle support and they allow you to wear your running shoes for when angling with over-enthusiastic fishing buddies.
