Stone Fly

A hard-backed mean tough son-of-a-bitch insect that lives in-between and underneath rocks and boulders on freestone rocky rivers. It also has an aquatic stage much to the benefit of trout and occasionally anglers. I've come across lots of them in Scotland, "The North" and the New Zealand backcountry.
