Grafham
Fished Grafham with Daniel. Hmmm, well not much was happening. Saw a few fish caught here and there. Picked out one on a bloodworm which I cleverly released, near my feet, without handling (Daniel was impressed). Got busted on a dry, which pissed me off no end. Nailed one on a suspender buzzer just on dusk – a few fish were showing. Quite a nice brown actually. Daniel caught a couple of rainbows and took some shots of me and mine, which I’ll upload later.
You may be surprised to see that we’re wet-wading here, at Grafham, in October, which is their back-end really. But we’re tough. We’re flyfishermen. We love this shit. And besides we don’t have wader sponsorship. And we don’t want it…
Flytying and pike fishing this week. Hanningfield on Saturday – more wetwading – bring it on!
- Bit of an evening flytying session.
- Standing in cold water up to my knees. Fantastic. Feel everything, really know you’re there brothers.
- See? In the zone.
- Daniel probably wouldn’t have nailed this fish if he was wearing waders. And if he had then he almost certainly wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.
- Still fishing, and wading deeper…
