Putting up the roof

July 21st, 2009 No comments

It’s going to be a busy week this one, and hopefully we can move in by the weekend. Training hard for the Ironman at the moment, which is taking a bunch of my time. It’s going well. I may actually be cycle-fit this year. Can’t wait to live there, wake up to that view and fish the hell out of the river at the bottom. School opens in four weeks.

Day 3

July 14th, 2009 No comments

Zoltan and I put up the roof. We’d have kept going but we ran out of screws. If we keep building at this rate Babus and I will have kids in University by Thursday afternoon.

Half a day of work here. Guttering, roof felt and roof ends go up next.

Day 2

Well they go up pretty quick and are solid as hell. Curiously the instructions didn’t actually explain how to fit the windows and doors but we worked it out. Should get the roof up to day.

I’m not so sure about Zoltan’s hat. Still at least he’s not wearing Speedos.

Day 1 – building

This could be a large file, would have uploaded to Sexyloops but Eric’s on Strike (FP). Anyway this is where we are today! With the help of Babus and her family!

The Marc Machine

Running in the evening was screwing up our day, having to worry about when and how much we ate – and it meant I didn’t get an evening shot at a fish. Running during the day is hard here when it’s 30 degrees and high humidity and Babus has to be in the hospital at 7am. So I’ve been up since 5! 10K run – and I have to say, sunrise was particularly beautiful, if slightly unexpected.

Came back, got online, uploaded the FP, checked out the Board, caught up on some emails and it’s pretty groovy.

40K on the Marc Machine. First ride of the season – I know, and the Hungarian Ironman is 6 weeks away – what am I doing practising so early? And fun to get out on the bike; there’s a nice route around the villages here. Back to work now, have some lines to chuck, got a flybox to organise, going to lift some weights. Tonight we’re swimming in the lake and fishing (of course). Fucking fantastic!

The Marc Machine surprisingly has yet to be camo’d.
