Ronan's report

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

There are still places out there that hold secrets.

Special places. Forgotten places. Places protected by great distance, open water, weather, and mountains. Places where the only trails along the streams are those tracked out by bears, otters, and porcupines. Places that require two or three boats to get to, and an extra fuel tank or two to make it home.

Places that almost no one would ever bother to look for because the biologist’s reports say there are no fish there. Places where you can’t blame the biologists for not looking for or finding fish in because the chances of finding anything seems so slight that they are better off studying someplace else. Places that truly showcase the adaptability, resilience, and evolution of a fish species.

There are still places to explore, and find adventure, and maybe even find a few fish that no one really knows about or at least never talks about.

There are places where no one even cares about steelhead or steelhead fishing.

Well, almost no one.
