Wednesday 20th May, 2009 Greetings from Yellowstone Country! This month has brought snow, rain and finally the long staying power of warm sun rays to the land. The fields are blushing green and on my hike up the local mountain, I saw the first wildflowers of the season; yellow fritillary, trout lily and the purple pasque flower. Ah, Mom Nature is back at the color palette! Mountain blue birds are back in town and I watch and listen to the sandhill cranes every evening. I saw my first grizzly bear of the year on the outskirts of Yellowstone a few days ago. I feel so lucky to be able to watch healthy wild bears in their homeland. I’m so thankful for the preservation of this landscape and the forces of nature that shape this special place. I had the wonderful luck to catch the Mother’s Day caddis hatch on the Yellowstone River last weekend. It was spectacular – bugs, aerial – trout, eager – and views, breath taking. Life is so good. Here’s to earth’s shift in color palette as she swings on towards summer in the Northern Hemisphere, Mimi ------------------------------------- Thanks to Mimi for filling in while I'm off fishing. Next week, someone else. Fish On,
