Ronan's report

Saturday, 7th March 2009

The other day I was in one of Denmark's largest tackleshops. I needed to return some lines I had borrowed for some photography. Wintertime is saletime in Denmark, and I of course expected to draw my credit card to the limit - I think I spent the equivalent of 10 pounds :-)

I got a copy of a new magazine, Chasing Silver (check it out - it's pretty good) and soem tyingmaterials. Some dubbing and some nice, fluorescent yellow, orange tipped, blackbarred zonkerstrips.

The strips had been crammed into a way too small ziplock bag, and when I got the out they were a terrible mess. Luckily, there's an easy way to fix that. I soak them thouroughly in water, give them a good massage to forco out all trapped air, and make sure the hide is soaked too. Now, lift them out of the water slowly, place on end in some sort of clamp (I used clothes pegs :-), and hand them over an egde (a table).

Leave them to dry over night, and after a quick brushing you'll have the most wonderful zonkerstrips.

Have a nice weekend :-)
