The Gathering 2009

Monday 9th February, 2009 It's all about to happen, again… After a highly enjoyable gathering in Perthshire last year you will all be pleased to know that planning is now well under way for the 2009 Sexyloops Scottish Gathering which will happen on Donside, that's Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It will take place around the weekend of the 9th & 10th of May (Paul, that is 2009). Anyone who has not attended a previous gathering has missed out, they are probably not as disturbed as they could or should be so attendance this year is highly recommended. Last year was a top event, the casting rocked, almost as much as the Taybank, the weather was good & some 'loopers even caught fish, wonder if Andy with a Rod ever did learn how to wade? Everything needed for the weekend is now just about sorted, we have accommodation for the majority, a field , accommodation for Paul / Kiwis / Hungarians & fishing. The plan goes something like this…… Friday - Some bald dude in sandals will be giving a One day casting course at a top secret location in the middle of nowhere. The course is quite good, I took it last year and learned how to wear sandals & camo, cast without a reel using a Helios / TCR hybrid rod and, a shitload of even more interesting stuff that that you will simply not get anywhere else. Register interest here if you want to learn how to cast better, better casting upon completion is, abnormally for Sexyloops, guaranteed. Saturday - Casting (thanks Mr B), shootouts, playing about with fishing tackle in a field and casting with some of the best casters and instructors in the world, you are guaranteed to learn something. Sunday - Demos featuring Stefan & Marc LaMouche &, White Hunter & Tony.. These will be good, that's also guaranteed. But…… As this is a Sexyloops® venture, the plan is highly likely to change without any kind of notice, check the board for updates, there are no guarantees. That's the day time stuff sorted, evenings will consist of drinking & entertaining the locals and for this, we have our own room with private bar in the hotel. More than big enough to swing a MPR and, it has a piano. Once again, Sexyloops has taken care of the important shit for you! So far there about 20 'Loopers booked in, please check here and PM me if I have fu**ed up your dates, this is entirely possible, I'm doing all this half pissed. The 2009 gathering is in an awesome location, the fishing that is within sensible travelling distance of Inverurie has to be experienced to be believed. Forgetting about the fact that Inverurie is on the banks of the Don; the Spey, Dee, Deveron, North & South Esk, Findhorn & the Ness are all within travelling distance so, for the weekend at least, you will have world class fishing on your doorstep and early May is a good time to be in this part of the world. To keep things simple, Shielfisher has secured exclusive use of the Fetternear beat on the Don, my first ever springer and, for a while, my PB trout came from this beat, it is well worth a fish (take a wading staff). Anyone wanting to have a throw here should PM Shielfisher for more details. Other reasons for coming…. Last year saw my carry increased by about 10' and my distance by about the same, shame it was after the shootout!! We look forward to seeing you there.
