Ronan's report

With Monk's Day at the Scottish Gathering, the 2007 charity drive has wrapped up. A pile of loopers got on board, both by donating items and bidding. Nice stuff this year, a nice DVD from Grunde (I think he kept the lab coat), flies from Chase, flies from Roy, fly lines from Victor, a mystery bag of stuff from Jason, Paul riding, running and paddling, and of course Paul's day of instruction. Paul, you've really gone all out again. (He pulled in the lion's share last year as well for adopt-a-minefield) Thanks man! And another thanks to the all the great members from the Board.

All totalled, nearly $3000 bucks was pledged to help the people of Bhurma/Myanmar who've really gotten a crappy draw between their government and the recent cyclone. Let's hope it all comes together for them in the future.

On the fishing side, Key West is coming up for me and I've been pretty distracted for the last week. Different kind of trip having a guide and staying in town. Not quite the same as Paul's Florida experience I'm sure. Tying up a few of the special's from the PoD now. Packing is just me and some gear which I don't really need either. Usually head out to the boonies and if we don't bring it, we don't have it. I can't wait. Rich, Bumcast, Jim and PJ are in route now. Magnus and I swap in for Jim and PJ the 2nd week to get leftovers, but maybe we'll be able to say "the fishing was so good, we thought it was last week!" Was that Lefty?
